Two more Classic Boat happenings

Out of Blankenberge where Lona now resides, Gravelines and Nieuwpoort are obvious destinations. Gravelines is a charming old reinforced town right beyond Dunkerque and houses since many years it's 'Escales à Gravelines' happening for classic boats. We sailed there with 5 OGA boats, sharp against 18 knots of wind and under a warm sun.

The event proved small and relaxed, and we had a fine group dinner with good music.

The Nieuwpoort Open Klassieke Schepen event invited us before but this was our first participation, the weekend after Gravelines, and it turned into a positive surprise; with an unexpected lot of very interested and savvy visitors. Among the multiple classic yacht events, Lona tends to be twice as old as most other participants and she draws a lot of interest.

This organization is in experienced hands and the atmosphere was decontracted as usual.
