Lona models

Lona was prepared for an early 2020 launch and for some great sailing, including a lengthy trip along the entire English south coast for visiting the major French Brest and Douarnenez classic boat festivals. I am seriously disappointed that all that was cancelled. Even the boat’s launch date remains unclear for now.

But I used the Covid shutdown period for completing this model on scale 1/15 so that I can look at her while working from home 😉.

Excitingly, completely out of the blue, Stanislav Jakeš contacted me for details on Lona. Stanislav has built in 2014 a radio controlled scale model of Lona III for competing in the Czech Championship and in international races. Originally, Stanislav built his Lona according to the old plan that was published when she was for sale. He is currently in the process of rebuilding his boat, bringing her in line with the current deck layout and rig design.

I am very eager to hear and see more of his project and of the racing performances of future mini-Lona III.
